I am New York-based music instructor specializing in double bass. My teaching philosophy values communication, adaptability, self-directed learning, goal setting, problem solving, expression, and patience. I view the student as a collaborator and encourage the student to have ownership over their education. I have been teaching for over ten years and have experience teaching a variety of ages and levels. I am an instructor at the Hackley Institute and completed a Juilliard Teaching Fellowship in 2023 working with the CLIMB program (Combining Literacy Instruction with Musical Beginnings). I have a MM from the Peabody Institute of JHU and a BM from the Juilliard School. For most students, I work from the George Vance Progressive Repertoire method books while using supplementary materials. If we sound like a good fit, I would love to call and learn more about your child's goals, learning style, experience, and personality.
