My name is Dimitris Timpilis. I am a mathematics educator with 19 years of classroom teaching experience in high-performing schools and 24 years of private tutoring experience. I work with students from elementary and middle school math through Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, AP Calculus, college Calculus, Calculus for Economics, Statistics, Regents preparation, SAT and ACT math, and mathematical enrichment. My teaching is patient, rigorous, and concept-driven. I help students understand not only how to solve a problem, but why the method works. I connect mathematics to its history, philosophy, and real-world uses, so that students begin to see math as a way of thinking rather than a list of procedures to memorize. I hold a B.S. in Mathematics, an M.A. in History and Philosophy of Sciences and Technology, and a Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning. My goal is simple: to help students become more confident, independent, and intellectually curious mathematical thinkers.
